Pros: Reliable and fast connection, I am a software developer, and often work from home, for internet connection I use a Cisco router, I was using wifi (about 10Mbs) but! it fluctuates quite a bit, even though my PC does not move, neither does the bran new Cisco router, so I decided to move the cable into my home office, called the cable company, they wanted ridiculous amount of money to do that, in the past I heard about Ethernet over power lines, so I decided to research, came across this product, and immediately purchased it, no brain required setup, WOW! now I am finally getting the speed I am paying for ...
54Mbs no fluctuation what so ever.
Thank you NETGEAR Thank YOU!
Pros: This is a great solution for those who want the fastest most solid connection, when direct wired connection is not possible or is inconvenient. If you don't have an easy way to route ethernet through your walls and you can't move your computer closer to your router, then go with this.
Better than wireless in terms of raw speed and MUCH better than wireless for latency stability in gaming.
Only 59.99 when I bought it.
Cons: The normal price is over twice what I paid, while this is a great product I cannot say that I would have bought it had it been $130. Netgear is generally pretty good but they might have been overestimating themselves on this item when initially priced.
Overall Review: I was using a Netgear N600 wireless router + adapter to connect before. The router is in a room almost directly above me but I was having all kinds of latency spikes and speed losses even though my connectivity was displaying as 4/5 bars. Until switching to this powerline adapter I had to put competitive gaming on hold.
Pros: Easy to use, works very well once the pair or more are plugged into the same circuit bus. Typically I get much better speeds than plain wireless will provide.
Cons: If you have this plugged into a wall socket that is already in use by a high draw device, you will see some speed degradation.
Pros: Fast setup
Cons: None so far.
Overall Review: Been having intermitent issues with my wifi connection from my router to my xbox360 or really any device to be honest. So plugged them in, about 40 feet away down a level and work perfect no hickups yet playing a mmovie on vudu hd. Amber connection so about 80mbps give or take which is plenty for what i need.
Pros: Works right out of the box with zero issues. Just plug in and off you go.
Overall Review: Solid product from a reputable company.
Pros: Wasn't sure what to think of this device when I first was saw it, saw afew reviews saying it works fine and the couple that didn't. So I took a chance to see how it would do or if it would even work at all. But ya worked great, simple set-up got a great speed boots compared to my wireless card.
Cons: The signal strength goes up and down (green, to amber) don't really see a decrease in speed tho might be minor but might be a distance thing or wiring not sure but.
Overall Review: Not sure how this would work with mult devices.
