i have a Panasonic bluray player it has a usb spot for wireless lan adapter I tried the edimax and it says connect compatable device does anyone know witch one is compatable ?

You will have to look up on Panasonic's website and find your model. Usually Bluray players only work with a few select models determined by the manufacture. If you have a regular network port I would suggest getting a dual band "gaming" wireless adapter that way you have higher speed for streaming.

It does, but my experience is that the range is really terrible, so I wouldn't recommend using it.

No. Obihai has designed their wifi firmware so that it ONLY works with the official Obi wifi adapter. Their adapter is tweaked to work. Even if another adapter uses the same chipset, it won't work with the obi200.
