Hello there, I need to know the speed and also the depth of the CF card slot, does it go all the way in or the CF card sticking out too far and it doesn't line up hardly when you insert the CF card and also I did  not see the USB 3 cable showing in the pic which should be in blue? Thanks

That is 3 USB ports, not a USB 3.0 port. The CF card is definitely going to be sticking out; I don't have a card myself, but when sticking a piece of plastic in the slot it goes in about 1 inch.

Considering I don't have a CF card, I don't know the speed of the CF interface.

Is it compatible with Asus Z97 - A MB?

I would think so. It is pretty much plug and play. I am currently using it with an ASUS AMD Mother Board M4A78T-E and have had no issue with it's use. The only feature I am not using is the IEEE 1394 fire wire or audio. I hope this helps with your decision.
