Is this device compatible with Windows 10?

Yes.  This thing has been with my computer through Win7, Win8 and Win10.  Not a single problem.

Question 2

Can this be mounted in an internal 3.5" (HDD) bay? My CM HAF 912 case has four 5.25" slots, all of which are being used. Since I infrequently use card readers, I'd like to mount it inside the case. Thanks in advance.

This is for an "external" 3.5" bay, not an "internal" bay. It might fit in an internal bay, but it would be impractical to use.

Will this work on Windows 7 ?

I'm having trouble getting it to work with Windows 7 64 bit.  The drive only works properly if I boot the computer with a card in the slot (I only use Sony Memory Stick cards).  I think its a motherboard issue, but have not found a solution.

Question 4

When a CF card is inserted, how far in does it go?  Is there a potential for bent pins?

Does it come with a different color face plate?

It does come with a silver face plate. CF card does go in about 1/2 way -- never a problem with bent pins. If your MB supports USB 3.0, I'd look for a 3.0 based solution as it is much, much faster

How long is the 9-pin cable? It is about 16" from my front panel  to my USB 2.0 headers.

If shorter than 16", is there a 9-pin USB male-to-female extension cable on the market?

The cable will reach to the back of my 21" deep case.  While not wanting to pull my card reader out to give you a precise measurement,  I think the cable will safely meet your needs.
