Noctua NH-U9B 92mm SSO CPU Cooler

Pros: This is hands down the best CPU cooler I have ever seen. Installation is not too bad. Super quiet, very effective fan and heatsink. Thermal paste is as effective as Arctic Silver. Do some research and come back and buy this. Only cooler better than this one is the 120mm version. Noctua is the premium heatsink company. The heatsink is set up so fan is blowing directly through it to the 120mm case fan out of the case. A+ Inaudible, effective, comes with quality thermal paste. Love it. Buy it. Recommend it.

Cons: Color...that's all I can come up with. This thing is awesome.

Overall Review: Antec 182 Case C2D 8500 CPU

Pros: Do your research. This CPU cooler is ranked extremely high by all reviewers on internet. Keeps my AMD X2 7750 BE OCed to 3.1 at 32-34C whether idle or gaming. I have the second 92mm fan added for total overkill. Will be using this cooler for as long as possible.

Cons: 92mm fan that comes with unit is a 3 pin unit. Most new MB use a 4 pin connector. The 3 pin works but I wonder if I am missing some featues

Overall Review: Other CPU coolers look prettier through the plexiglass. This one is designed to work extremely well and it does.

Pros: Made to fit in situations that you cannot use a taller / larger cooler. Dropped 9c off of idle and 8-10c off of load depending on ambient. You do not have to remove your mb if you use a AM3 board that already has a back plate, just unscrew your retaining clips and place the thin clear washers over the stand offs and assemble per directions. You can even use your orginal retaining clip screws. Nice and easy install if you're using AM3's. Even though the fan is not PWM compliant it works on my mb using the CPU fan connector and having the BIOs set to Auto (ie PWM or Voltage). The fan speed varies based on heat.

Cons: Cools well but has its limits, it is better than the OEM cooler and much quieter, but I wouldn't try to OC with this cooler. Save that for the 120mm or the new 140mm version (when its finally available). Not enough clearance for RAM with heat tall heatsinks. I had to move mine, raising the FAN a few fins was not an option with my 128mm height restiction.

Overall Review: This suited my needs nearly perfectly. Quiet, effective, and fit in the ~128mm space my matx case allowed. After spending about a month researching various coolers I selected this one. It was a good decision.

Pros: Very quiet. Pretty small. I can hear it but barely, even at night when there is no noise from any other source. Running with the ULNA, it keeps my Athlon64 X2 2.7GHz 65W running at 42C with the case closed and about 39C with it open. Thats under full load. It this might actually be understating the performance because i think i might have put too much thermal compound (included). BOINC uses 100% Idle with the powersaver underclocking it to 1Ghz, it runs at 18C, and the ambient here is about that. I am very impressed.

Cons: It was almost impossible to find somthing that would fit on my biostar GF8100 M2+ SE, because i was stupid and bought memory with heat spreaders. There is no clearance between the heatsink and my memory, and i could only clip the fan on from one side. My fault though so still 5 eggs

Overall Review: I replaced the (loud) amd stock cooler with this. If you have an idea of a component you want to buy, read the reviews here at newegg, but also look on other websites. Frostytech.com is a good one for cooling/heatsinks. I was looking to buy a rosewill, but i checked the reviews, and it was a bit too loud for me.

Pros: Moderately priced with similar results as water cooling, extremely quiet, VERY effective product, Fantastic thermal grease (better than Arctic silver imo), Did I mention it's REALLY EFFECTIVE, QUIET, GREAT PRICE?

Cons: I would imagine this would be difficult to install into a motherboard if it's still in the case. Large, though it's not a problem with my case (Cooler Master Cosmos 1000). It was a bit disconcerting to note minor flaws in the product finish. There were overcoated spots on the mounts, not totally smooth all over which made me nervous before installing though my fears were soon proven unfounded. The instructions should tell you in which direction the fan should face in order to push air through the heatsink rather than pull air through it. I used this on an intel based chip but the AMD installation instructions looked much more complicated. There should be a size comparison on how much thermal grease should be used. I don't have a ruler handy with millimeters on it to get the recommended 5 and I assume I'm not the only person who would be guessing on this (size of a pea maybe?). Overall Review: What a great product! While I haven't had any direct dealings with the company I would be surprised if their support was less than epic due to the quality of their product and the reviews they get. I would buy this again in a heartbeat. So far it's worked wonderfully and I have no complaints. Small clips for the excess fan wire would be very nice to have. I hate the zip-tied look I have right now but don't want to shorten the wires to the fan and void the warranty. In fact there is about 5 times more wire than necessary for me to plug it into the fan power off the motherboard and I assume that most motherboards have fan power connections very close to the processor as mine does. I am really happy with this product and I have never given any newegg product 5 eggs before today. I am pointing out possible improvements in the hopes the company will read this and make minor improvements to their lineup. They are a company that will go places as long as they continue producing A+

Pros: Extremly silent fan even without the LNA or ULNA connectors. Solid build, easy step by step instructions making it easy to install. Extra clips to add an additional fan. Big plus for Newegg to pick up the Noctua line.

Overall Review: I purchased this 92mm unit thinking the 120mm might not fit in my case. I don't think that would be a problem if you are deciding about which unit to choose.

Pros: Rock-solid mount using back-of-board mount. Positive screw mounts secure HS to processor. Lots of surface area. Not so tall that you cannot mount intake fan on case side over the top of the cooler.

Cons: Need extra $10 mounting kit for 1156 and 1366 coolers. Fan itself and mounting clips extend enough to side to make contact with tall heat-sinked memory sticks. Without simple modification to fan clips, tall memory sticks severely limit directions fan can be oriented. Fan unattractive color.

Overall Review: The usual way fan clips connect to fan is to have bent "elbow" in wire fit into fan corner mounting holes. This will cause wire to protrude several mm out from the side of the cooler, possibly making contact with tall memory sticks. By simply rotating this elbow 90-degrees with a pair of pliers, the elbow turns into a hook that will grab onto the mounting post and pull the wire flush with the side of the cooler.

Pros: Small in size making it an easy fit, lowered temps of my phenom 720 by 10 degrees celcius from stock cooler. No overclock (2.8ghz) = 28c idle and 35c full load. Overclocked (3.3ghz) = 33c idle and 46c full load.

Cons: required removing motherboard out to put on backplate of my am3 socket.

Overall Review: Have had this for only a day now and overclocked my amd 720 to 3.3ghz. Idle temps are at 33c and full load running prime95 for 4 hours temps never exceeded 46c. Temps could be better once the break in period of compound sets in. Stock cooler gave me idle temps of 39c and full load of 49c with cpu being at stock settings of 2.8ghz. Could of overclocked higher but needed a significant increase in voltage to cpu.
