Norco's DS-1240 SATA array lets you load 12TB of storage or more as drives get bigger, in a 3U rack mount chassis. The chassis connects to your system through 3 Infiniband Multilane 4 channel interfaces. This lets you hook the drives up to multiple computers. If you've got three systems you can put a 4 channel RAID controller in each and have up to 4 of the chassis' 12 drives dedicated to that system.
The 12 drive bays support SATA II / 3.0Gb/s transfer rates. Depending on which controller you use RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, and 50 as well as JBOD are supported for maximum flexibility. The hot-swap trays have special power off mechanisms to protect the drives.
Three 70mm fans mounted on the back panel keep the drives cool. Indicator LEDs are provided to warn of temperature or fan problems. Keep your data safe with Norco.
