Question 1

Does this version come with a headset?

Yes.  There is a headset included in the package and also some further connections if you need to divided the 3.5 mm plug into separate microphone (usually pink colored input on graphics cards) and output (usually green colored output on graphics cards) or if you have separate plugs on a laptop for in/out put.

The headset is light and fits reasonably well and the microphone arm is adjustable.  My experience is that the microphone/headset is a very standard type and nothing especially amazing but it does a good job right out of the box.  
Accuracy is certainly dependent on many factors but the included headset is certainly adequate and also completely optional if you decide to upgrade at some later date.  I've used a number of different microphone and headsets with DNS and eventually ended up using a desktop microphone for my own comfort / convenience since I'm often deskbound while working.  When traveling with a laptop I frequently use a bluetooth headset and it's absolutely fine within the range limits of the bluetooth.

in summary, the included headset will get you up and running immediately on setup.  Training starts the moment your system is installed.  Depending on your circumstances training may be brief for accuracy but as a long time user I find it's my own training in using the software that has the steepest learning curve.  When you know what you're doing with it, DNS can really be amazing.

Question 2

is headset include. or just  CD?

A headset is included as well as an adaptor so that you can choose how to connect the headset to either the sound ports or your usb connections.  It's a fully functional headset but not a top of the line microphone.  It's good enough to do well with the software and straight out of the box it's surprisingly functional.
There's a learning curve based on what you might be using the software to accomplish.  It's trainable in that you can teach the software to recognize your preferred speech patterns and in some cases your accent.  I have a rather strong accent and was frankly surprised at how well the software did upon install.  I had imagined there would be lengthy sessions of reading just to get it into a manageable state but that wasn't the case for me or anyone in my office.  I'm guessing that it's pretty good if your accent isn't very very localized, broadly speaking it's likely that most of the USA is represented in it's lexicon.  That's just my guess but so far it's worked with everyone that's tried it (around a dozen folks) and I think we're a good test market.

This software does take some getting used to and much like way back in the day when computers were truly slow there may be a few stops and starts until you learn the pacing.  Older machines take a few seconds to process and then you can move on.

It's a great time saver if you use it often and for me it's been quite good.  Until we get actual AI I'm pretty sure it's as good as it gets.

what does "OEM version" mean?

Original Equipment Manufacturer.  It means that instead of paying more for a retail box, you can buy a less expensive plain-box version.  The software or hardware is exactly the same, it's just that you're buying it for less, usually without a warranty other than a standard 14 to 30 day return policy from wherever you bought it from, and without the technical support you'd get if you paid for a retail version.  For instance, you can buy an OEM video card for your desktop computer, which is just the card in a box, and maybe a CD with the driver on it - OR - you can pay more for the full-blown retail box, which has a warranty, manuals, comes with free technical support, and sometimes extra free software.  This can be the same with software, or hardware.  Hope this helps.

Question 4

Can you control the mouse and other generic navigation features within the Windows OS?

Accepted Answer

The short answer is yes for windows XP and Win7.  I've used DNS for years and though I don't navigate the OS often it has functionality.  I've no personal information on WIN8/10 but would assume that DNS would actually expand it's interface with MS since those versions claim to be more media rich and user friendly.

I would definitely check the DNS website as they have detailed data and a FAQ section.
