The one I received was black on black, no chrome trim.  I will have to say that if you're in the market for one of these, it's well worth the money.  From the time I opened up the shipping box and snapped it on the system was a couple minutes, if that.  I play my Xbox pretty regular and I can definitely tell a difference in the 360's performance, especially on long gaming sessions.  The feature I really liked about it was that after you turn off the system, it will stay on long enough to get that last bit of hot air out of the case before it shuts down on it's own.
