If i were to purchase this, would a wire so that I can connect it to the motherboard of my pc be given or have to be purchased seperately?

You need to supply all cables that are needed.But It does come with an internal USB 2 connector cable and a molex power connection cable.  The molex connector is a white or black 4 pin connector which you connect from your Power Supply Unit of your computer. The USB Motherboard connectors normally comes either with the computer part or Computer case. You can probably purchase a separate USB Motherboard cable  online.

I have been using it for over three years without any problems. I have my Computer Case and WiFi/Bluetooth PCIe card both connected to this unit. My motherboard only has one USB Motherboard connection on it. Plus I now how two Internal USB ports in case I need it.

really worried about the reports of this frying the motherboard and and usb ports. what should I do?

This unit sits inside my case and is hooked to multiple ports on the motherboard. I even have a 128gb thumb drive attached to it. Then I have panel connectors attached. Been that way for almost a year. No problems at all.

All the necessary cables comes with it. The hub powered with a molex attached the main body itself.

Is there a reason to have a external usb inside the case? I got one of this for NZXT components that requires more internal usbs than my motherboard has but I still haven't found myself the use of the external usbs.

I do not use the external USB ports on the NZXT Hub either. But there could be any number of reasons to use the NZXT Hub’s external USB ports. The port would be a good place to plug in a USB Dongle for wireless keyboard, mouse, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. The only caveat is that the intended location of the subject USB Hub is inside the computer case where radio range may be restricted. Another use might be for a USB Thumb Drive for an alternate boot device. Or maybe you just want to have an internal USB device that is not easily stolen (because it is inside the computer case). Another use might come from a shortage of external motherboard USB connections; particularly if you have a lot of USB devices connected to your computer. You can run a USB 2.0 A male to A female extension cable from the internal hub to your desktop with something like the StarTech USBEXTAA5DSK M-F extension cable. You will just need to find a good way to run the cable from the inside to the outside of the computer case (e.g. through a case's grommet for external water cooling radiator tubing).

Will this work with the Asus Crosshair VI Hero and Extreme motherboard?

Yes these 2 will work together. I found it useful in expanding my builds lighting and peripherals.

I have a Asus Maximus IX Hero, I am planning on having Corsair H115i, Corsair LL RGB Fans & Lighting Node PRO. Will this work & still have control of the lights & everything i suppose to control??

I don't see why it shouldn't. It has two internal USB Ports plus three USB MoBo Connections. I have a Asus Sabertooth 990FX Motherboard. I have an Internal Card Reader, WiFi/Bluetooth Card, and another card connected to this internal USB hub. All have been working without any problems. I would guess the power draw from the Corsair Pro shouldn't be more than a normal USB Port will supply.

Doubtful. You must have access to an empty USB header on the motherboard and a spare molex connector (or Sata to Molex) from your power supply.

Question 8

Does this have an LED light?  (I'm looking for one without the LED light?)

I you have a modern computer case there is more than enough room to mount this on backside or down in front of power supply and not see the light.
My computer motherboard has a lot of lights and this light did not bother me when on the front side, I only put in rear to hide cabling.

Does anyone make something like this that is USB 3.x? I have been looking for one, but haven't had any luck.

I've not seen anything but those made for drive bays that can be modded. Out of curiosity what do you need USB internal for? I use this 2.0 hub for internal communications to my aquaero controller, PSU etc where it's simply monitoring that doesn't need a ton of throughput.
