I bought this recently and the only colors that show are yellow, red and green. even with the mode that automatically changes colors only show red and green. Whats wrong with it?

Probably means you put it backward. Try to switch it around, even though both ends connection looks like it can connect, only the arrowed end can. I know this because I made this mistake when I hook up mine too.

Question 3

Does this include a strip of lights or do they need to be purchased separately?

Yes. It brings the strip which is I believe 2 meters long. The only piece of advise I give you for placement is to be patient. The adhesive is good but obviously when trying to stick it to metal it could be a challenge. You're gonna have to keep applying pressure and put the strip back in place a few times before it decides to hold for good.

Question 4

Like some reviews have said, their units shorted out or stopped working after a few months. How many of you have experienced this personally?

2 and a half years or so with mine and still good. it's seen 3 different cases as well.  I can see how it would be possible to break and do wish they would have made a little more effort of keeping the connections enclosed.  But I would always recommend this controller. if mine ever does quit I'll definitely get another.

Can you make the LEDs a white or soft white tone/color?

I've gotten very, very close to it. Usually, it has just a touch of blue, but not enough where it distracts from the white color you're trying to achieve.

Question 7

Their are two cords in back. the 4 pin that connects to the led strip, and a longer cable. i assume the longer cable is for power, but where do you connect it? it doesnt look like a connector for a psu.

The cords are for power and the led strip.  However it is a sata power connector, not a molex.  You can get a sata to molex adapter if need be.  I don't believe one comes with it.  Also don't get confused with a sata drive connector.  It is a sata power connector.

Question 8

How to you change the mode?  I only see 3 knobs but they each have a color and a mode, brightness, power option.  How do you activate the option vs. color?  Thank you!

To change colors twist the knobs left or right without clicking the knobs.  Clicking the Blue knob will make the lights fade and blink different colors, it can also be set to normal which is a solid color. The Green knob you press and hold to power on or off the lights. The Red knob controls brightness clicking it will increase brightness little by little until it reaches the brightest then it will go back down to the lowest brightness.

What kind of power/connectors does the need?

Will I be able to use this more than once? I'd like to put this in my current PC, but I'm building a new one relatively soon and I would want to use it in that build as well.

The LED's are on a sticky adhesive strip, so it may be hard to relocate it without using some other method of securing them in the new computer. Other than that there is nothing that prevents you from moving it to another case after being installed.

The lights have a rubberized, hard shiny exterior on the top so it's quite easy to squeeze them in between channels/crevices on the outer edges of the case to act as an alternative method of securing them. It's been a while since I installed this product but I do recall the adhesive strip wasn't all that sticky in the first place, and oils from fingers would render the adhesive mostly inert.
