Does it come with thermal compound or do I need to buy some?

It comes with a packet of thermal compound but personally I wouldn't use it. So if you're able I'd highly recommend some decent thermal compound to go with it. But if you can't get your hands on any, what they provide should do the job fine.

Question 2

I have a MSI FM@-A75MA-E35 MB.  This is a micro-ATX form factor MB.  I was wondering if anyone know if this heatsink/fan will fit onto this MB?  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks

Yes, it will work. I had bought a computer kit from Newegg that had your motherboard and I bought the NZXT RC-RST40-01 on the side because the stock cooler is just blah. I had put thermal grease on the cpu and then I put the NZXT RC-RST40-01 on it. Just make sure you pay attention to lining it up because it will slide and pay attention to detail when putting on the bracket making sure everything is positioned right. 
Here's the kicker, be very careful when screwing down the two screws. Don't get really them super tight but just enough to hold the cooler down firmly and then watch for aluminum shavings come off the bracket when screwing down the bracket. You might want to put some masking tape around that before putting it on and then once done take off the tape and take a can of air and blow the motherboard off around 3 times to be sure there's no metal shavings anywhere that could short out your motherboard. Unfortunately, there are no thermal compound. You have to get some separately.

Is there a way to connect a second fan to this heat sink?

Yes. The package comes with an extra set of fan clips. Just clip them on to the fan and attach it to the heatsink. I only tried this with NZXT fans, I'm not sure about other brands.

Question 5

I have the MSI970A-G43, will this fit on the mobo without obstructing my RAM?

Also would I have to put the IO shield on the back of the mobo?

I'm using this unit on my MSI Z77 MPower. It does obstruct slots 1 & 2, however if you use low profile RAM it's not a problem. With the low profile RAM I'm using, I can install and remove the RAM with the heatsink installed. I'm using "Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Low Profile Desktop Memory Model BLS8G3D1609ES2LX0".

What are the full dimensions of the fan and heatsink together? I can estimate it knowing that the fan is 120x120 but I'd like to know for sure whether this will fit in NZXT's Phantom 410 case. Given the stated clearance of the 410 I think we're probably good.
