Can one use the internet and another person make phone calls at the same time?

Yes you can, but you need an internet speed of 30MB+ otherwise you will get robot noises while talking (dropped voip packets). VOIP is not supposed to take a lot of bandwidth, but I had 15MB at one point and the phone was terrible every time until I went up to 30MB after that I never had a problem with the phone or internet. I have used Obihai for about 7yrs now and I've only had to purchase 2 devices in those 2 years, but the best money I ever spent!

Hardware manufacturers such as Obihai Technology have created devices that enable the home user to use conventional wired telephone(s) to place and receive calls over their broadband connection through Google Voice, as well as other service providers.[68]
Google Voice will terminate support for XMPP in May 2014, which will stop service for 3rd party apps and devices that use the XMPP signalling protocol including Talkatone, GrooveIP and Obihai.[69][70] In contrast, the GVJackApp for magicJack and the GVMate Phone Adapter both of which are signalling independent will not be adversely affected and will continue to work for users as normal after support for XMPP has been terminated.[71]

I'm not too sure but I think I read conflicting info on this ... Will this pick up a wi-fi signal from the house router in another room or do I need to purchase the wi-fi dongle as well?

no Wi-Fi on mine, I have read poor reviews on the optional dongle 
you might get better results hanging off your router and using a cordless phone I have that set-up and it works great. 
Call quality is very dependent on a good connection. My experience with wireless makes me think that for the ObiHai wired is the way to go.
I have run these in front of my router and behind it, worked well either way, it my flaky TW connection that is the biggest problem. On my FiOS connection shazam! works very well.
I haven't tried faxing with it either, for the few faxes I need to send I have use free faxzero works very well. For my VoIP I am using VoIP.ms works well and getting better, I had ringo.to as well but now that is going away for the ObiHai's probably wont miss it.
I have been using my ObiHai's about 1 1/2 years now, I like it.

Yes, you can use google number or you can port your existing number to google.  Also fax work with this model.  I use google voice before biy decided to ise phonepower company because I thought they will end the service.  Hope I answer your questions.

If I connect this with an ObiWifi adapter, can either of the wired network ports be used to connect another device?  IE, will it double as a wireless bridge while serving up voip?

I called Obihai.  The wired ports are only for providing QOS when the device is placed between a modem or ONT and a router.

I have tried to use this as a fax device. Unfortunately, the fax is unreliable -- I was only able to successfully fax about one out of three tries. 
It can be used separately, if you want to try.

In the box you will find (at least I did):
1. OBi202 Device
2. Ethernet Cable
3. Power Adapter.

You will need a phone and cord. Also, if you use the second phone port, for a second line or fax, you will need that cord and machine as well.

What kind of a CPU does the Obi202 have and how fast is it? How much memory does it have? Can it slow down network traffic going through it if it is being used as a router?

Actually it can function as a router as well as VoIP/SIP device. That's why it has two ethernet ports: LAN and Internet, and this is one of the things that make it different from the other Obihai models. You can place it between your modem/ISP and your LAN and use QOS to make sure that VoIP gets priority over other kinds of network traffic. My concern though is that it could slow down the traffic passing through it if it has a weak CPU or low memory. Hence my questions.

The obi202 VoIP adapter will not work with any ip phone. The purpose of the adapter is to covert a standard analog phone to a ip phone

can I use this device with my iPhone ?

Sure... It will work with any home phone (which will be free, but no 911 service) through Obitalk. You can then link your Iphone to Google Voice and it will route home calls to your iphone or vise-versa.  Set-up an Obitalk account (free) and you'll get a good idea how it all works. I use Android with my old home phone (Obitalk will issue you a number or pick a new one). I can route my home phone calls to my Android phone (different number) when I'm out and off when home. My fax stays connected to jack # 2 and my home phone in jack # 1 all the time. I hope this helps and it's confusing to explain but it will work. Google voice set-up and you get a lot of info.
