Overall Review: The Corsair Dominator 6GB DDR3-1600 kit has the exact same speed, timings, and voltage but costs over $50 more.

Pros: This is an amazing and perfect tri-channel kit for your new i7 build...was available for a few hours on newegg last week. Currently running my i7 920 at 3.20GHz with these babies at 1594Mhz (888-24)..

Overall Review: CPU-Z seems to show these as PC-8500 Modules rated at 1.5v (??)

Pros: Fast. Stable. 6GBs DDR3 1600 triple channel?! Nice shiny gold heat spreaders that could probably even fool Cash4Gold. Runs cool. A decent overclocker. Lifetime warranty! OCZ is great; hasn't failed me yet with their RAM.

Cons: Manually set your timings to the listed 8-8-8-24 and 1.65Volts in the BIOS as your motherboard will probably not automatically detect this correctly.

Overall Review: Be sure to check out the Combo Deals and save yourself a few bucks with that Corei7.

Pros: Once configured correctly, they work fine.

Cons: Lack of documentation. The only instruction included is an illustration of how to insert each DIMM into a slot. Now I realize that the BIOS will vary by motherboard, but this was NOT a plug n' play install. I've assembled many PCs in the past, but it's been a few years. The product description and packaging do not state that the timings and voltage may have to be set manually. All 6 gb would not work without the correct settings. Scouring the EVGA and OCZ forums yielded the following settings with an EVGA 132-BL-E758-A1 LGA 1366 Intel X58 motherboard. Memory Feature Memory Frequency 1600 mhz ( 2:12 ) tCL Setting ( 8 ) tRCD Setting ( 8 ) tRP Setting ( 8 ) tRAS Setting ( 24 ) Voltage Control CPU VTT ( +150mv ) DIMM Voltage ( 1.65v ) MEM LOW GAP = 3 GB <--- This was key Again, this would not be obvious to anyone installing RAM for the first time in several years or other first-timers. It took some time to discover the MEM LOW GAP setting need to be changed

Overall Review: The sticks are shiny and gold. They could serve well as prop harmonicas or cheap neck jewelery.

Pros: Decent RAM at a fair price.

Cons: Poor overclock when paired with X58 Gigabyte board. Not the RAM's fault...RAM Lacks XMP. X58 Gigabyte boards to not offer the precise 1.4v QPI & 1.65v DDR voltage settings required to OC this RAM correctly. XMP RAM solves this by defining these voltages in the XMP profiles. XMP also increases your RAM SPD value, which then gives more flexibility in your RAM OC when modifying your BCLK/RAM multiplier.

Overall Review: Clearly people have had good OC potential with this RAM when pair with different vendor boards. Do your homework. Originally I suggested the OCZ3X1600LV6GK to a friend because I personally own it. He saw these gold heatsinks and his mind was set. I did not do my homework on X58 Gigabyte overvoltage limitations or the lack of XMP support on this RAM. I've build several iCore7 rigs within the year always using XMP RAM. You will definitely get a higher overclock by spending a little extra on RAM and getting a XMP compatible board. In conclusion...I've had better results with OCZ3X1600LV6GK + GA-EX58-UD4P + Intel i7 920 clocked at 3.6GHz, 6.48 QPI, 1800MHz 8-8-8-26 DDR3.

Pros: Since it's DDR3-1600 and the Core i7 920 has a 1066 clock, this RAM is underclocked by default. That makes it the perfect RAM for overclocking your processor, because up to 1600 MHz you're guaranteed not to be limited by your memory. In my case, with a GA-EX58-UD5 and Core i7 920, I'm able to overclock with the stock cooler from 2.66 GHz to 3.24 GHz (and I leave Turbo enabled so it hits 3.4 GHz at the 21 multiplier), using a 162 MHz bus and a 1.25v vcore, and after eight hours of prime95 on blend testing the temperature of any of the four cores didn't exceed 81 degrees C.

Cons: None, it's six gigs. I paid twice as much for two gigs of DDR-400 a year ago, and this has four times the bandwidth with three times the capacity. This stuff is great!

Cons: 2 of 3 were DOA.

Overall Review: Send them back for some Corsairs.
