ONKYO TX-SR606 7.1-Channel Silver Home Theater Receiver

Pros: Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD decoding with HDMI switching for this price. Are you kidding me? I got this with the Infinity sound bar and saved another $50 bringing this receiver in at $350. WOW! What a great value and features for a moderate 7.1 priced sound system you just can't go wrong.

Cons: Audessyey EQ just sucks in my book. Just set up everything manually and turn off Audessey. I had my system set in in over half the time the Audessey took to calculate the room environment LOL. Then in it's final calculation it wasn't even close to what it should have sounded like if adjusted manually. You and your and ears will thank me later for this advice! Receiver has some quirky controls but with all the features new receivers have these days I think most of them do. My $900 Denon even did.

Overall Review: Onkyo's run a little hot so make sure you don't put any equipment on top of them and give them room to breathe.

Pros: Great sound. Looks good. Easy to use. Incredible bang for the buck!!! Paired with my PS3 streaming mp3's off my PC via TVersity thru Fluance HTB 5.1 speakers. I'm a happy camper.

Cons: Uh... Zone 2 is only stereo. A little difficult to set up. Audyssey emphasizes the rears a little too much, but that just takes a minor tweak. That's about it.

Pros: Great sound! 7.1 and cheap!

Cons: Wish there was more audio flexibility with the AudysyEQ thing. Pretty much can just adjust Sub and Center levels if you use it. Great tool and I was surprised at how well it worked (other then turning my subwoofer to -14db which I manually adjusted after the fact). I couldn't even find a 'balance' adjustment.

Overall Review: No regrets. I bought this for home theater more then music and it's exceptional. Paired it with 6 polks I bought at the same time and for the minimal money spent I got maximum sound.

Pros: I had an old 1973 JVC Tuner that finally crapped the bed. I loved that baby but knew it was time to enter the 21st century. I already has the 46" lcd, and the PS3, it was time to begin constructing a home theater system. This receiver is now the centerpiece of my collection and my baby. It simply rocks. Audio is crystal clear, no background noise, static, nothing! Video passthrough works great, upscaling is meh. For the price you will NOT find a tuner anywhere near as good as this one. I compared this to a 1k Denon and, frankly, i like it more.

Cons: The Auddesey EQ isn't great. You'll need to manually tweak the setting a bit to your personal taste and the acoustics of your room. I have an oblong room (I know, what a travesty) and had to adjust accordingly. Also the upscaling kind of sucks, you get some jaggies at times, but it's nothing to sweat over, it is still great.

Overall Review: I paired this with some Onkyo speakers as well, which i normally wouldn't have (I wanted the Aperion 5t hybrid!) but the price of the ht240 5.1 set was too sweet to pass up. Overall I am very, very pleased.

Pros: Nice appearance, runs cool, GREAT sound (very deep), easy setup, HDMI switches flawlessly.

Cons: Can't rename the inputs, (That's all I could come up with)

Overall Review: Hooked up to a XBOX 360, Digital Cable and BluRay DVD. All HDMI at 720p, and all are working/switching perfectly. No humming or other line noise. Have the receiver running out to a Gefen splitter and sending signal to both a Toshiba HDTV and a Mitsubishi projector. Works great and the sound is unbelievable. MUCH better than my Yamaha receiver, which was very good in and of itself. Highly recommend.

Pros: Plenty of power...lots of head room. Allows you to bi-amp the fronts. Solid construction, plenty of features. Definitely got bang for my buck.

Cons: Audyssey Dynamic EQ needs to be tweaked after initial setup...especially the subwoofer settings...but no biggie.

Overall Review: This is my third Onkyo receiver (not counting the Vintage Solid State) and the fact that i could bi-amp my Polk Monitor 50`s sealed the deal.
