It works great and looks great. Very ergonomic design.

It comes with all the cables. In my opinion it is the best
USB 3.0 Hub you can buy.

Buy this model of Orico because their other models look
great, are small but are not as convenient and ergonomic.

I originally bought their other model but now only use this model (I have more than one). This model also comes in aluminum but that is overkill.

Does this device work with windows 10 pro 64bit?

Yes, that is also my setup. It did take a month and two emails to get it though. Bought two of them, one is on Windows 10 home 64bit, and the other is on Windows 10 pro 64bit. Nice device, works well, and built quality is good, especially at this price. All depends if you can wait should you be made to. I wound up buying two of the Wavlink Portable7-Port USB 3.0 Hub Aluminum Alloy Design 9.5" Built-in Extension USB Cable Surge Protector - Transfer Rates Up to 5Gbps, 5V AC Adapter - Gray because I needed them sooner, but I kept these because I found them to be worth it. Question 3

I am plugging in USB external hard drives to use them as back up drives but ORICO H7988-U3 is not recognize them,  I don't see them in my server devices. If I will pulg the USB external drive on the USB port on the server I see it fine but plug it in one of the ports in ORICO I don't see them. The power bpue light on the ORICO is on but when I plug a USB there there is not light on the number that corresponds on that port. Any Ideas?

It should work I have 4 USB hardrives attached to my laptop and all four of them show up. Might be a faulty unit. But try this. Shut down computer. Plug in the hub only to computer. Restart computer. Check to see if system recognizes the hub. If so, shut down computer and hook up devices to hub. Then restart computer. If they still do not show, turn off power of the devices, unplug from hub, replug into hub and repower up the devices. I would make sure you also have it plugged into a USB 2 or USB3 port. USB3 is recommended

can i use it WITHOUT power adaptor? i mean, i want to connected it to my external HDD 2TB WITHOUT plug in the power adaptor, so basically i want to use it as unpowered USB3 hub (just in case there is no socket when i'm travelling in someplace).

I tried using it without the power brick and it was a no-go. I tried all manner of replugging devices and PC cables and nothing would work without the DC power brick.

My previous powered HUB that failed would allow use with or without a power source but this one does not.

Thanks for asking. I did not know it wouldn't function myself until just now.

On the plus side, it is an awesome HUB though with top notch build quality.

Not sure ... probably yes. Any USB port that I have seen is also a charging port.

I have never seen a USB port that is not a charging port .... they could exist but I personally have never come across one.

This worked fine on my old computer. I hooked it up to a new computer (ASUS P8Z77 WS mobo) and for some reason Win 7 detects it as USB 2.0.  I used several known working USB 3.0 ports. Does anyone know how to correct this?

The problem that you mention is not related to the Hub.
When you google that problem (I just did it) all kinds of
complaints show up on many computer brands and many
hub brands.

Interestingly, many people say when they run Ubantu the
hubs work but when they switch to Windows 7 or Windows
8 it does not.

So whats the answer? .... I would google the problem and
see what different people recommend to do. Try a few things
and one of the solutions will work.

I wish there was a magic answer but it seems that Microsoft
messed up and owners of different brands of computer (HP, Tashiba, ... you name it) and hubs from different manufacturers
have to run through hoops to get USB 3.0 working.

Just google "Windows 7 detects USB 3.0 hub as USB 2.0" and you will see very quickly what I am talking about. You will
see many other people complaining about the same problem.

Problem is almost all Microsoft, sometimes computer manufacturer, but almost never the Hub manufacturer.
