Feels good, but under the hood the build quality isn't there. Mulitple data pins missing solder.5/11/2017 9:37:59 PM
Pros: Solid aluminum case for the front piece.
Is a USB 3.0 device
Cons: Soft plastic holding USB ports in place, gives is a "Springiness" to something that should be more solid.
Mine came with most of the data wires on the USB 3.0 ports not soldered to the board. Mechanical force of "bent pins" is all that is keeping my USB3 data lines communicating.
Overall Review: Rugged build falls apart when you use/look at the thing closer.
I pulled mine apart because I bought it to make a pc dock, (voiding the warranty). I have fount most of the data pins on the USB 3 are missing or have no solder on them.

Poor and Incompetent Customer Service - DEFECTIVE PRODUCT3/30/2021 5:22:02 AM
Pros: There are no pros here. The company demanded a video of my unit not working. I make one and then proceed to hear every excuse in the book on how it cannot be viewed. We even moved off of Newegg to their choice of email address, and the excuses continue. If they cannot open a video nor click a link, how on earth can they do anything else?
Cons: This hub did not work right out of the box. It was dead on arrival. With the added benefit of zero customer service, you can expect to receive that same level of service if the need arises. Just be careful, they will NOT believe you and will demand to view a video they cannot open. After 6 weeks of stupidity extraordinaire, I have vowed to remove myself from the cess pool of incompetence. It is just too crowded in here, and I deserve better.
Overall Review: The level of dysfunction here is off the charts. If you deal with this company, you should be prepared to hear what you want to hear with no results to back it up. Oh and by the way, the video they cannot view has been uploaded below. It is so interesting, but it is proof that the unit is defective.
Pros: 1. Good aesthetic design.
2. Power button would be very handy for turning of my automatic-off External HDDs and similar devices if said devices worked properly when plugged into the Hub.
Cons: 1. Does not work with my 4 Powered external hard drives, even if only one is connected. (Causes data errors/corrupts file system)
2. "USB 3.0 3ft. Cable" does not appear to be a 3.0 cable.(extremely thin compared to all other 3.0 cables I have)
3. Keeps disconnecting and reconnecting certain small adapters/transmitters at random, although infrequent and unpredictable.(Wireless transmitter for headset, mouse, keyboard, and USB SD Card readers.) again, even if only one is connected at a time.
4. Not good for charging devices, especially more than one at a time. I cannot call this a flaw, though. The description provided states the power supply specifications.
Overall Review: As a side note, I feel I should mention that I am very computer savvy, and know for a fact that the problems do not come from my computer, software, operating system, or available system resources. I am not trying to plug in too many thing for my computer to handle.
I feel that it is too light to contain sufficient hardware to operate as described. It appears to me to be one of those "knock-off products" made to imitate a legitimate piece of equipment. I am concerned about fire hazards, but can't say for sure any exist.
If I had known the things I know now, when I was choosing a hub, I would have gladly paid a higher price for one that works as described. My decision of which hub to purchase was based on the price, primarily. I knew the cheapest ones with 10 ports would be made with cheap materials and could possibly be hazardous. The price of this product gave it credibility.

Cons: I purchased the unit in January and it has now stopped functioning entirely. Plugging it into any USB port results in the unit not even being recognized. It ended up being a $25 piece of garbage after less than 6 months.
Overall Review: No, I would not recommend this hub.

Pros: I bought this to duplicate flash drives in quantity of ten at a time. The ports are spaced so that both snap-cap and swivel drives will fit, although there is no extra room when you use swivel drives. Novelty drives might not fit. The USB connectors themselves are a little stiff, but may "break in" as I use this.
I have, in general, found Orico equipment to be of high quality at a fair price.
Cons: There is NO POWER ADAPTER, although at the time I bought this the description included "5V2A Power Adapter." I hope Newegg will fix that. What is included instead is a POWER CABLE with a USB-A connector on one end and a coaxial barrel connector on the other, as shown in the pictures. You have to supply your own USB wall wart! That, of course, explains the low price.
Overall Review: I gave this four eggs instead of five because I think the description is misleading, and because of the stiff connectors.
As long as you understand that what's in the box DOES NOT INCLUDE A POWER SOURCE, this does what you need. If you were trying to connect a bunch of self-powered USB drives, you wouldn't even need a power source. I had a 3.5A USB wall wart on hand, so this worked fine for me. If you're expecting a power source, you'll be disappointed.

Doesn't work with portable hard drives2/9/2015 5:16:11 PM
Pros: Beautiful LEDs (though picture doesn't show it, even the USB port glows blue, not just the little LEDs alongside the port). Well built. Long power cord and long USB 3.0 cable, Great looking, power button.
Cons: The unit seems to work well with my Thumb Drives, Printers, and POWERED hard drives. However, it completely fails with all 4 of my brand new non-powered 2.5" external drives. It constantly keeps ejecting, then reinstalling them (making them literally useless). The drives are made by Toshiba and Seagate. The drives work fine in the host computer (that the USB HUB is plugged into). Despite coming with a nice power supply with high current, it just can't handle non-powered hard drives. What a shame.
Overall Review: It looks like I will have to return the unit.

Cons: The description is: "ORICO High Speed USB 2.0 10 Port HUB LEDs 3.3FT USB Data Cable 5V2A Power Adapter for Laptop,Desktop,PC and Laptop -White"
Even though the description says "5V2A Adapter" there is not one included. The documentation does not show any specifications as to what power supply can be used.
It may be a good product but the title is misleading.
Newegg needs to force the vendor to change this listing.

Nice functions, size, and looks. Recommended.12/27/2015 9:48:16 PM
Pros: Works well, great functionality, functions well as designed. Matches images on the site.
No problems with bus-powered external hard drive (WD My Passport) even through Macbook wake/sleep cycles.
Good value.
Cons: My complaint is minor. It's easy to see that it'll be there from the on-line photos, and even with it I'm happy with my selection.
I've got a MacBook, ended up with the hub off to the left, ports facing toward the laptop. This leaves the power cord extending out the back (good), but the cable from laptop to hub expending out the front. (Not ideal.) I'd have preferred the 2 "required" cables coming off the same end.
Overall Review: Recommended, would buy again.
