How many PCIe 3.0 lanes can this use?

The device uses a dual-channel PCIe Generation 3 interface for M.2 M-KEY SSDs.

1) Can I install this in the second M.2 slot of my mobo? (2) When installed, does it use up, or replace, one of the PCI slots?

The answer to (1) is yes, and for (2) it depends on your motherboard. On mine I can use all of the m.2 and pci slots and have no issues. However, using the second m.2 on my PC disables one of the onboard SATA ports. it depends on your motherboard though
