What is the plug on the back that attached to the cable that goes to the computer? it looks like USB-A male, rather than something more standard like USB-B female.

Yes, it does use a non-spec a USB 3.0 type A to USB 3.0 type A cable.  These cables do not confirm to USB specs but not entirely uncommon either.  Doesn't really cause issues when used in this manner.  But those cables can cause issues where someone uses them to connect two computers together.

What is the screw thread size? I need to replace the screw's end pad with a swivel pad. The original pad self-detaches on EVERY unclamping and is now lost.
