Leclerc was the author of an extremely concrete performance which allowed him to collect a well-deserved 2nd position which was particularly valuable from a championship perspective. Starting fourth, with a perfectly executed undercut (on lap 9), the Monegasque put himself in front of Lando Norris and in the final stint he completed the job, managing to keep the Briton behind, who had Hard tires six laps fresher. At the end Leclerc also had the satisfaction of setting the fastest lap of the race which earned him a further precious point in the standings.
