- Start with a deep layer. Always lay down at least 5–8 cm (about 2–3 inches) of litter, ensuring you can no longer see the bottom of the box. This depth gives the liquid space to soak in and form a clump before it hits the floor of the pan.
- Try a mix for the best of both worlds. If you prefer lightweight qualities of tofu litter but struggle with its clumping ability, try mixing it with bentonite. A ratio of 70% tofu litter to 30% bentonite clay litter can significantly improve clumping and help prevent sticking.
