The EF 180mm f/3.5L Macro USM is a Canon L-series lens that offers both close-up and mid-range capabilities. It can achieve 1:1 magnification for life-size macro shots with a 1.6' minimum focus distance, and also produce flattering portraits with a medium telephoto perspective. The lens features three ultra-low dispersion elements to minimize chromatic aberrations and a Super Spectra coating to reduce flare and ghosting. It also has an internal floating focusing system that maintains high image quality at any distance. The lens uses an Ultrasonic Motor for fast and quiet autofocus, with full-time manual focus override and a Focus Limiter switch for speed optimization. The lens is weather-sealed for durability and has a detachable rotating tripod collar for stability when mounted on a tripod or monopod.
