What to Do If Your Scissors Feel Tight:
New scissors?
We apply lubricant at the factory, but it can dry out or evaporate over time—even before first use. If they feel stiff, just add a drop of light oil to the pivot (center screw).
Recently washed them?
Soap or water can strip away the lubricant. Restore smooth action by adding a drop of oil to the pivot.
Haven’t used them in a while—or used them heavily?
The pivot may have dried out. A quick drop of oil will get them moving smoothly again.
Tip: Use a light oil (like sewing machine oil)—just 1–2 drops are enough! Wipe off any excess.
