Old Work Electrical Boxes
Sometimes called a remodel box or toggle box. An old work electrical box can be inserted into an opening in the wall. The traditional toggle box attaches directly to the wall covering. The traditional screw on box attaches directly to a stud if available. Our SmarToggle box is designed to attach to either a wall covering or a stud or both. An old work box is the only way to add a box to an existing wall without tearing out a significant portion of the wall.
SmarToggle Benefits:
- They have a pilot guide pin used for determining the center of the box on the wall. An extremely useful feature when matching existing switch and outlet boxes.
- They have 2 means for mounting the box, toggles or 1 interior mounting screw. More options for mounting the box.
- The ST1 aka the 1gang box has 1 set each of #6/32 and 8/32 threaded holes for device and light fixture support. It is the only box of its kind that offers both features.
