The stud detector quickly locates wood and metal hidden in the walls, floors and ceilings of the house. How To Use eOUTIL ST102 Stud Finder?
Step 1: Calibrate before every scan
Place unit flat on wall, press and hold the ON/OFF button at the left side. The red light and green light will flash and the unit will beep.
When the green light (Power Indicator) stays illuminated, the calibration is completed. Do not move the unit before calibration
Step 2: Scan the wall
First slowly slide the stud finder, lock the approximate position of the wood stem (For more accurate test results )
Press the button and slowly move the digital wall scanner along the wall.
* If you shake or accidentally lift the scanner, you will need to recalibrate the device
Step 3: Find the location of the stud
Then beeping sound and 4 signal strength light will let you know there is an edge, mark it !
Same process from another slide, you will get another edge, you found the stud

Detection is achieved using two different methods:
1. Magnetic
Uses powerful magnets to pinpoint the location of screws or nails in a stud. Therefore it doesn't detect the stud itself but rather the hardware that attaches the wall material to the stud.
2. Electronic
Electronic stud finders rely on sensors that detect changes in the dielectric constant (the relative permittivity) of the wall. This changes when the sensor is over a stud. The lower reading indicates the presence of a stud in the wall and the signal will let you know by the colored lights. eOUTIL ST102 stud finder is an electronic style.
*When the product battery is lower than 7.8V, the product may indicate low voltage, the first yellow LED light will flash, and the buzzer will sound, indicating that the product can no longer be tested at this time, and a new 9V battery needs to be replaced
