Can I get readings in fractional inches like 12 ft 3 7/16 in?
Yes. Hold UNIT 2 seconds to cycle: m -> ft -> in -> ft-in fractions. Displays exactly as written in construction drawings. No conversion needed.
How do I turn off the beeping?
Hold FUNC/RECORD and MEAS simultaneously for 5 full seconds. A crossed-out speaker icon confirms silent mode is active. Repeat the same action to re-enable sound. Works in any mode, any time.
How do I switch between measuring both directions vs. just one direction?
Press FUNC from the main screen. Double arrow icon means bilateral mode — both ends fire simultaneously. Single arrow means single-end mode. Press FUNC again to toggle.
Is this accurate enough for tile work, flooring, or trim carpentry?
Yes. At 30ft, readings are within 3/16 in of actual. Use ft-in fraction mode for finish carpentry. Not intended for surveying-grade applications.
Does it work in dark rooms, attics, or basements?
Yes. LCD has auto backlight for low-light conditions. Red laser visible across full range indoors. For outdoor use in bright sunlight, distances over 10ft give the most reliable readings.
