The SG1004 is a 4-port Gigabit secure gateway from HPE Networking Instant On, built for small and growing businesses that want to strengthen network security or safely expand to a new location. It is a 1G wired, cloud-managed gateway with routing and hardware-accelerated firewall, intrusion detection and prevention (IDS/IPS), and VPN features, and it supports up to 100 users.

What security features does it include?

The SG1004 provides a firewall, Intrusion Detection and Prevention (IDS/IPS), VPN including site-to-site VPN, and WAN resiliency, along with an AI-Powered Network Assistant. It provides 24x7 network monitoring, an IDS/IPS engine, and domain blocking, with preconfigured rules and built-in security features. Because these features are hardware accelerated, the gateway can still deliver near-line-rate throughput.

What performance does it deliver?

The SG1004 is rated at 980 Mbps of IDS/IPS performance and 930 Mbps of VPN performance for up to 100 users.

What ports does it have?

One 1GbE WAN port, one 1GbE WAN/LAN configurable port, and two 1GbE LAN ports. It has no PoE and no additional interfaces.

How is it managed?

The gateway is deployed and managed with the Instant On cloud app.
