- Detecting Short Circuits and Open CircuitsIn the CONT mode of the continuity tester, attach the red and black clips to both ends of the wire under test. Note that volume is affected by signal strength. If the sound is faint, adjust the probe position to enhance the signal and ensure detection accuracy.
