The DJI Ronin is a high-performance 3-axis stabilized handheld gimbal system, developed for the filmmaking professional. It’s engineered with industry-leading components – including custom built ultra-fast DSP processors, extremely accurate IMU sensor, and Digital Absolute Positioning Encoders, putting world-class precision in your hands. You can adjust the camera angles with precisions of ±0.02°. The included 2nd operator remote enables a second operator to remotely pan, tilt, and roll independent of the Ronin’s movement. Three operation modes make this gimbal stabilizer great for all shooting angles.
Made from precision machined aircraft-grade aluminum, the DJI Ronin offers the durability to withstand rugged use on set, even in harsh environments. No loose cables or zip ties give it a clean, professional appearance.
Additionally, the DJI Ronin supports a multitude of cameras and lens, and allows for tool-less setup and adjustment. The feature-rich iOS DJI Assistant software allows easy setup of all system configurations, while the PC Assistant also provides control of all the Ronin’s functionalities, in addition to firmware upgrades for future features. Plus, you’ll delight in its long-lasting smart battery, and the included carrying case.

State-of- the-art components for superior performanceBased on Zenmuse technology, the DJI Ronin features a built-in IMU, and customized direct drive brushless motors for professional photography. The motors have been developed with the high performance Ronin in mind. Using FOC control, you can count on high precision, low vibration, and increased torque. Digital Absolute Positioning Encoders in each axis provide the highest levels of accuracy. A customized, advanced 32-bit floating point DSP processor offers more efficiency than an ARM processor, for faster processing of signals from the onboard encoders.
Built-in receiver and remote controlWith a built-in DJI receiver, the DJI Ronin can be remotely controlled by the included 2nd operator. The 2nd operator transmitter allows a 2nd operator to effortlessly pan, tilt, and roll independent of the Ronin’s movement. SmoothTrack speeds and operation modes can be easily assigned with two custom toggle switches on the transmitter. This makes framing wide-angle or close scenes significantly easier for a single operator. A D-Bus port is also included if a non-DJI receiver is required.
Three operation modesThree different modes of operation allow the Ronin to be used in different scenarios, all of which can be entered without changing settings on the Ronin Assistant app, or a 2nd operator remote. SmoothTrack functionality remains in all three modes. In upright mode, just flip the gimbal over to bring the camera closer to eye level for a higher perspective without straining to lift it. Use this mode when sticking the Ronin out of a car’s sunroof or when trying to shoot over a crowd of people. In underslung mode, the camera can be comfortably held low to the ground, at chest level or anywhere in between. This mode is also used when the Ronin is suspended from a camera jib or crane. In briefcase mode, it allows the gimbal to be held to the side and close to the legs, much like a briefcase.
Easy setup and adjustmentThe Ronin is not customized for any specific camera. It can be easily adjusted to carry everything from small & light Micro-Four-Thirds cameras to heavier systems - like the Red Epic. Most importantly, the Ronin’s built-in balance adjustment system allows for tool-free setup and adjustment, so changing the setup for different camera arrangements is quick and simple. Its top bar features a quick release system, allowing easy attachment and detachment for rapid setup and break down. The follow focus systems and matte boxes can be mounted on the Ronin by using industry standard dual 15mm segmented rods. And, the segmented rods allow for customization of different lengths, dependent on camera and lens setup. Once your camera is configured, it’s ready to shoot in as little as five minutes, saving time and increasing efficiency on set. The built-in ATS (Auto Tune Stability) technology intelligently tunes Ronin to your camera rig at the touch of a button.
Quick swap smart batteryThe Ronin’s customized smart battery is easy to install and simple to charge with the provided charger. Remaining power can be checked directly on the battery. Overcharge and over depletion protection is built-in, as is individual battery cell charge balancing. Expected runtime is over four hours, depending on the attached camera rig and gimbal usage. Plus, two regulated 12V P-taps, one 500mAH full size USB connector, and also a connection point for the DJI Lightbridge Long Range HD Video Downlink are provided. This offers convenient power connection for various accessories, including follow focus systems, HD video downlinks and others, all while keeping the wiring to a minimum.
Protective carrying caseThe included carrying case allows you to easily take the Ronin with you anywhere. It’s extremely strong, durable and water tight, and features Dense custom cut EPP foams, providing the ultimate protection for the Ronin and accessories.
