The Garmin LakeV? g3 Ultra HD U.S. - West contains detailed coverage of 5,900 HD West US lakes with 1 foot contours and more than 75 Garmin Elite survery lakes with integrated Garmin and Navionics® data. LakeV? g3 Ultra HD employs Auto Guidance Technology that uses the desired depth of the user and the overhead clearance to calculate a route and suggest a path to follow. With high-resolution relief shading, a combination of color and shadow, the user gets an easy-to-interpret, clearer view of bottom structure than contour lines alone.

The maps provide unique 3D views, MarinerEye and FishEye view that provide an additional perspective for the user both above and below the water line. Users can also adjust the maps according to the lake's current water level, this gives them a better idea of spots that are either accessible or too shallow to explore. The maps also feature up to 10 depth ranges, and also allows to use shading to designate the shallow water depths the user might need to avoid.
