It is an accessory, not a doorbell. This WiFi chime pairs with your Google Nest Video Doorbell and rings inside when someone presses your Nest outside. Features 32 ringtones, 5 volumes up to 110dB, silent LED flash alert, and 999+ expansion.
Does this chime work with my Nest Doorbell (battery) and Nest Doorbell (wired)?
Yes, it works with all Google Nest Video Doorbell models — battery and wired. It connects via 2.4GHz Wi-Fi through the Smart Life app, then you create a Google Home automation to trigger the chime on doorbell press. No wiring or subscription needed.
Why is there no “When a device does something” option on my interface when creating routines in Google Home?
This is because your phone is currently set to "Previous personal editor" by default. You need to select "Previous household editor". Please refer to the instructions below for operations.
How many additional chime units can I add for whole-house coverage?
You can add up to 999+ chime extenders across your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. Place each unit in a different room — bedroom, kitchen, basement, garage — assign it a custom name and unique ringtone, and you will know exactly which entrance was triggered.
Is the setup complicated? I'm not very tech-savvy.
Setup has several steps but is beginner-friendly. Plug in the chime, connect to 2.4GHz Wi-Fi via Smart Life app, then create a Google Home automation. The instructions are thorough — follow them step by step and it all comes together smoothly.
