Question 1

Is this wireless, it looks not to be, does anyone make a wireless one that is compatible with Windows 8?

No, this is not wireless. It has worked very effectively for me, particularly when traveling abroad and needing to charge numerous devices from one hotel outlet.

I am not aware of any Windows 8 wireless units, but I tend to use this with either my Dell Windows 8.1 Pro M3800 workstation or my Chrome Pixel chromebook and have not wished for a wireless alternative. (When I am not traveling, it tends to remain attached to the M3800, at my desk.)

As with other HooToo products I have purchased, I have been pleasantly surprised by the somewhat better than average materials and construction of the unit. It is by no means an Apple-standard finish, but it is not at all out of place with my other high-quality devices and accessories.

Question 2

Which charging port do I use for Ipad and/or IPhone?

Only the bottom two ports are for rapid charging. 
Normally you would want to use the one 2.1A out as it will supply more power and charge your device quicker.
However, if that one is already in use the one marked 1A out will certainly get the job done. It will just take a little while longer.

The other 7 ports will supply a trickle charge while giving you access to whatever is plugged into those ports but it will take many hours to fully charge your device.

Question 3

Does this adapter support external hard drives? I have USB 3.0 port but all are full. I would want to use 3.0 HDD and also a usb bluetooth adapter.

Yes, this hub does support external hard drives. I have a 1TB, 2.5", USB3 Seagate Expansion Portable Drive plugged into my HooToo USB3 hub. I've had no problems with this combination.

The HooToo hub supplies plenty of power to the external Seagate drive, which doesn't suffer from occasional drive disconnects as it did when plugged into a different (USB2) hub. Before purchasing the HooToo I had to keep the Seagate drive plugged into the laptop independently for proper operation, which was a pain. Everything works a charm with the HooToo.

I can't verify that a USB Bluetooth adapter will work but I'd be very surprised if it didn't. I have a total of six devices plugged into my HooToo, including a non-Bluetooth remote keyboard/mouse transceiver and all work without complaint from the computer or the software drivers.

Hi, I'd like to use the gear in Europe. Is the power supply auto-switching? e.d. ca it be used with 220 v and 50hz as well?

No. It is 110 AC, 60 Hz.

However, if you go to the HooToo web site you will see they offer several buss powered products where this would not be a problem. I would guess that if it is buss powered it will not have the ability to charge things like a cell phone.
If you look at the charger models they might have something with your power needs (I did not look).

Question 5

I have a Nexus wireless charger (1.8A) plugged into the 2.1A port, but the charger says there is not enough current (solid red light.) Any ideas?

Looks like everything you have plugged in consumes too much power. 
You might unplug some devices but you will probably just have to stick with the company supplied setup.

I am not exactly sure about your question.. but

if you are charging your phone... by the bottom two ports you can charge a phone easily.

Now of you are hooking your phone up to a computer via usb slots .. it works as well...

if you are trying to hook the unit to your phone.. and not to a computer.. you will need and adapter (usb to mini connector hdmi) on your phone..  this might give you the way to make external memory...

is the hub backwards compatible ? I have 5 or six usb controllers for music production and all are USB 2.0.

I don't know about UASP, but I been using this USB HUB for at least a year or so, I can say one thing, this Product is Great, no problems and it works really well.
