MacOS:
Apple menu > System Preferences > Displays > Arrangement > Do not tick Mirror Displays.
Windows:
Setting > System > Display > Multiple Display (Press Win and P > Project > Extend).
Extend mode: The 2 ports VGA and HDMI display the same content in extended mode

Apple menu > System Preferences > Displays > Arrangement > Tick Mirror Displays;
Windows:
