The 982D SE includes both C210 and C245 soldering handpieces, giving users two soldering systems in one bench unit. Use the C210 handpiece for micro soldering, microscope work, small pads, and dense PCB areas; use the C245 handpiece for general soldering, larger pads, wires, connectors, and joints that need more heat transfer.
The station can reach up to 200W output when using the C245 handpiece, supporting fast heat-up and stronger heat recovery for demanding soldering tasks. The cartridge-style tip design integrates the soldering tip and heating element, helping transfer heat more efficiently than traditional separated tip designs.
The station supports PID temperature control and a 194842°F temperature range to help monitor and compensate heat during use. The built-in temperature calibration system helps correct tip temperature differences after changing cartridges, reducing the need for a separate external thermometer during routine calibration.
The front display shows key working information and can be tilted for easier viewing from different bench positions. Four customizable preset channels let users save frequently used temperature settings for repeated tasks. Additional workflow features include sleep mode, standby mode, °C/°F conversion, buzzer configuration, solder wire dispenser, tip storage/change slot, and cable guide.
