What is the Freesync range? (i.e. 40hz - 75hz or 48hz - 75hz)

I couldn't get this monitor to go above 60hz at all. I tried VGA and HDMI connectors. With VGA the image was not in the correct place on the screen, there was a small black border at the top and the image was cutoff on the bottom. This was on Windows Server 2008. I also tried VGA on a Windows 7 Ultimate machine and had the same cutoff image. The reason I was trying VGA is because I think that HDMI is limited to 60hz and I really wanted to get the advertised 75hz working. I contacted customer support at LG and they did not have a solution for me. I ended up just using HDMI at 60hz unfortunately. I really wanted to return them but decided it's too much hassle and I can live with 60hz.
