Does this monitor have speakers built in?

Yes, however, these are 5watt monitor speakers. They will sound like they are being filtered with a tin can. Do not expect it to have great volume either. However, after a few days, I have become accustomed to the speakers and they work w/o the bells and whistles of a real hdtv.

Regarding the 1080 part of this monitor, or any monitor that does 1080 vertical, how does text look? I have a 27" at 1200 dpi vertical and text is very sharp. This monitor is as tall screen-wise 15" as my 27" and my concern is the text will fuzzy. Can somebody speak to this?

The cheapest of the 27" in your nearby stores are 15" high, 1080 lines, if you want to judge with your own eyes if fewer, taller pixels are acceptable to you...then order this wide one. Since 2017, a screen 1440 lines are normal for personal viewing, the old 1080 for meetingRoom/ClassRoom group viewing (or the legally blind).

how does this monitor display a game that is forced into a 1920x1080 resolution?  will it try to stretch it, or will it just center it with black spaces on both sides?

Depends on the setting of the game which you should have control over. As long as it's a relatively new game, despite it not having native support for the ultra wide format it should understand it exists. Worse case you you will just have pillar boxes. Best case you'll get to pick th stretch or not.

Fortnite has full support for this 21:9 aspect ratio and this resolution of 2560x1080. I believe it did not initially, but a patch late last year enabled compatibility with no scaling issues, just extra wide gameplay:)

What is the actual size of the screen it self? Outside of frame to outside of the frame? Width and Lenght - Is the stand removable so I could set it up with multiple screens on my rack?
