Working Principle:

The MS6818 Cable Tracer consists of a transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter applies a modulated AC voltage to the target cable, generating an electric field around the cable. The receiver is equipped with a coil when placed near the conductor, the flux lines pass through the coil and into the receiver. This phenomenon induces a small voltage in the coil, which is processed by the receiver's electronic circuitry and displayed on the screen. A key feature of the MS6818 is that the transmitted signal is digitally encoded, ensuring clear signal reception and preventing false readings caused by interference fields (such as from electronic fluorescent ballasts or frequency converters).

This instrument is widely used in communications cable installation, power cable construction, building pipeline installation, and maintenance of communications cables, power supply circuits, and heating lines. It is an essential tool for frontline construction and maintenance personnel.
