You need the installation bracket for your vehicle. And a wiring harness if you have steering wheel buttons.

Has anyone actually used this for Navigation? What is required, do you purchase maps from somewhere? I see it says "requires AVEC-U260"; I googled that and came up empty.

Also, anyone hook up a backup camera to it?

I want one unit that does it all.

Sorry, I can't be much help as I did not purchase an optional navigation unit.  I looked at the user manual of the X5700BHS, but it does not list any compatible navigation models.

How do I add the Navigation system to this unit?  What do I need to additionally purchase for the Navi?

You, would need to buy Pioneer's Nav unit.. Forgot part # and exact name they call it. Look on thier web sight..
But thier nav, is pretty crapy... And so if you went with this deck and to have a good GPS, get a portable unit..
If you do a internet search, you will see that most stay away from adding pioneer's nav unit, as thier iffy, and dont come close to a portable Garman... 
Other than that, this is a Great  cd/dvd receiver. And alot better compared to a equil price kenwood,, as kenwood quality has went out the window..

what is the size of the face width and height I want to see if it will fit my truck thanks?

Double DIN size. 
I had to cut a little on my F-250SD dash to make it fit. A dremel tool makes best for this.

Will this fit a 2015 Chevy Colorado W/T work truck? if so do I have to modify the dash for it to fit?

you have to have a double din opening in your dash and then you order a dash kit for you specific vehicle.
