Magnetic wireless charging lets you start charging without plugging a cable into the phone. It is a convenient supplement to wired charging, not a claim of equal or faster performance than a wired connection. Within wireless charging, compatible iPhones that support 25W can receive up to 25W and charge faster than with 15W wireless charging under comparable conditions. Compatible iPhones limited to 15W remain at up to 15W; for those devices, the upgraded thermal architecture focuses on improved heat control rather than higher wattage. Android devices are not supported. For up to 25W wireless output, use a 30W or higher USB-C PPS power adapter supporting 15V/2A. Lower-power or incompatible sources reduce charging speed. The power adapter is not included. The charger supports up to 25W for compatible iPhone 17 and 16 series models, up to 20W for compatible iPhone Air models, up to 15W for compatible iPhone 15, 14, 13, and 12 series models, and up to 5W for wireless-charging cases for compatible AirPods models. Actual output varies by device, software, battery condition, temperature, alignment, and power source. When charging through a phone case, use a case compatible with MagSafe; a non-compatible case may weaken magnetic alignment or prevent stable charging. The thickened dual-ring magnetic structure helps keep a compatible iPhone steady in vehicle use. Its split thermal design places the charging coil in the 57.6 mm pad and the control board in the USB-C plug, moving control-board heat away from the phone-side charging area.
