Does it work on both 2.4 and 5 Ghz??

I just plugged in mine to verify and mine does NOT see my 5Ghz wireless . it is great for setting up new PC's Linux and Windows as the drivers will make it work until you can download the correct ones for your PC. the extended range works pretty well, but would be better with a home made antenna. Good luck

Can this be used for Windows Vista?

Yes; I set up an old PC for a friend who lived across the street from a relative which had Wifi.. It worked just fine after logging in. Distance between buildings 3 acres one using it had a metal roof. This allowed the to use a single ISP for access.

does anyone know if this is compatible with Windows 8.1 and/or Windows Technical Preview (10)?

Of course. It's just a WiFi range extender or access point, OS-independent.

Anyone know if this would be compatible with any of the newer Mac OS? (I'm running Mavericks OS X 10.9.3.)
