Starman (Steelbook)

While helping a handsome alien in danger, a grieving widow begins to heal. Director John Carpenter presents a romantic science fiction odyssey starring Jeff Bridges as an innocent alien from a distant planet who learns what it means to be a man in love. When his spacecraft is shot down over Wisconsin, Starman (Bridges) arrives at the remote cabin of a distraught young widow, Jenny Hayden (Karen Allen), and clones the form of her dead husband, Scott Hayden. Due to be picked up by his mother ship in three days at Meteor Crater, Arizona, Starman is in dire need of human assistance.

Thus Jenny becomes an unwilling participant in a trip that becomes a dangerous flight across the U. S. as the two are pursued by the U. S. Army and secretly aided by a government agent (Charles Martin Smith). Over the three-day journey, however, a strange and wonderful relationship develops between a confused human woman and a curious and determined alien, leading to a climactic rendezvous with Starman's mother ship.
