How does it mount? I see some pictures are with a suction cup to windshield, but the description says to dashboard? Do I need to drill holes?

Yes. You can mount to the windshield with suction cup. You can mount to the dash because it comes with a round plastic disc with a very strong adhesive. Obviously sticks to the dash board Surface.   If you mount it to the dashboard the camera mounts upside down.  It's a little strange having to operate the buttons when the dashboard cam is upside down. The video will display normally because of the G-sensor.  The only issue with the dash cam being mounted on the dash upside down is that the video is recorded that way as well.  The video is not that great either. I was truly disappointed with the video quality.  Also the power connection at least in mine is very loose and will disconnect when driving because of the vibration. If you buy one hopefully you won't have this issue. Anyway, good luck.

Does it start recording when the car is turned on?
Does it keep overwriting the old videos as the card gets full?

Yes, as long as it is plugged into a 12v that gets power when key-on it turns on and off automatically. It also overwrites old files as it gets full.

Multiple questions, especially since at the time of writing this there was NO specs listed other than it being a dashcam - which I already knew.

Question 1 - Does this camera have infrared capability?
Question 2 - Does this camera have motion detection capability?
Question 3 - Can you exchange the 8 gb sd card for a larger card, and if so what is the max capacity that can be used in it?

2. no but it does have impact detection.
3. yes. I put a 32 Gb card in. Make sure you format it with the dashcam and get a decent class 10 card.

Question 4

Can this dash cam be used to record the interior cabin of your car?

Yes, if the left side wide-angle camera is turned to the interior. Only problem with recording your interior is you'll lose wide angle recording for the exterior. Meaning the telescopic will only record what is directly in front of the vehicle and will miss anything coming from the side.
