The Poly EncorePro HW720 is a wired, binaural stereo headset with an over-the-head design, ear-cup fit, Quick Disconnect, and a noise-cancelling microphone, suited to people who need a headset for voice communication at a desk.
Recommended For
- Contact-center agents who spend much of the workday on calls and need a noise-canceling microphone for clearer voice conversations in a busy workspace.
- Customer-service and support teams that need a wired, two-ear headset for focused phone or VoIP conversations rather than a wireless personal audio device.
- Desk-based workers who want to disconnect briefly and step away from their workstation, provided their phone or computer has a compatible Poly Quick Disconnect adapter or cable.
- Agents who prefer both ears covered for concentration on calls in shared or moderately noisy office settings.
Real-World Use Scenarios
- On a busy contact-center floor, an agent handling customer calls can use the two-ear design to focus on the conversation, while the noise-canceling microphone helps reduce surrounding office noise picked up by callers.
- For telephone-intensive customer service or help-desk work, the HW720 supports repeated calls through the day; its adjustable microphone boom can be positioned near the speaker’s mouth to keep their voice clear for callers.
- In a shared office where nearby conversations compete for attention, an agent can wear both earcups to concentrate on a customer call; this can help with focus, but the headset should not be treated as full sound isolation.
- At a desk using a compatible desk phone or PC audio setup, the wired Quick Disconnect connection suits agents who want a consistent headset connection; the correct Poly adapter or cable may be needed for the specific device.
- When an agent needs to step away from the desk between calls, Quick Disconnect lets them detach the headset from its compatible cable or audio processor without unplugging the desk-side connection.
