The EPOS IMPACT 860 is a wired, stereo USB-C headset with Microsoft Teams certification, designed for professionals who need clear calls in noisy open offices. Its adaptive beamforming microphones, EPOS AI, and busylight support focused communication at work.
Recommended For
- Desk-based employees in open offices who spend much of the day on calls and need their voice to remain clear over nearby conversations and keyboard noise.
- Remote workers who join frequent meetings from a desk and prefer a wired USB connection over managing a wireless headset.
- People who want to handle quick in-office conversations without taking off their headset, while keeping call controls and a visible busy light close at hand.
- Speech-recognition users working at a computer who prioritize a clear boom-mic voice input; an independent Dragon test reported strong recognition accuracy in both quiet and standard office noise.
Real-World Use Scenarios
- In an open office, take a video or phone call while nearby conversations and keyboard noise continue; the microphone is designed to keep your speech intelligible to callers, though it will not make the room silent for you.
- Work from home with household sounds in the background during a meeting; the boom microphone can help reduce what callers hear, but the standard IMPACT 860 should not be treated as a headset with active noise cancellation for the wearer.
- Move through back-to-back work calls and meetings; the headset’s on-device call and mute controls, boom-arm actions, and busylight can make call handling easier and signal to nearby coworkers that you are occupied.
- Keep the headset on while briefly speaking with an in-office colleague; its listen-through feature is intended to let you hear nearby conversation without repeatedly removing the headset.
- Switch between a home office and a workplace desk; use the USB-C connection or included USB-C-to-USB-A adapter to connect to compatible computers without relying on a wireless connection.
