Thirteen Chefs Cutting Board Cleaner
Products Designed for the Chef
What is the main cleaning ingredient?
Our main ingredient is coconut derived sodium laureth sulfate. This is a cleaning agent that helps create suds and a soapy foam to lather and remove food bits and stains from the wood surface.
Does this cutting board cleaner maintain my wood cutting board?
Yes, our cutting board cleaner also hydrates wood from the glycerine ingredient that is part of our formulation. While we don't recommend our cleaner as the only maintenance, using it each time you wash your cutting board will help prevent dryness.
Do I need to use mineral oil in addition to the cutting board cleaner?
We highly recommend that you do. Mineral oil penetrates the wood and helps to prevent warping and cracking due to changes in moisture levels. The mineral oil also has a secondary effect as a barrier against water and other unwanted introduers.
How do I use the product to clean my cutting board?
Spray the cleaner onto the surface of the cutting board, then spread the cleaner around using a cloth or sponge. Let the cleaner sit for 1-5 minutes (longer for tougher stains or mess). After that, wipe or rinse down.
What types of wood surfaces can I use the cleaner on?
Our cleaner can be used on practically all wood surfaces: countertops, furniture, floors, chairs, tables, utensils, wood bowls, a pirate peg leg... well, you get the idea. The formulation is designed for untreated wood, but treated is ok too.
