Connect up to eight IEEE 802.3at/af PoE devices, such as IP cameras, wireless access points and VoIP phones, while using two additional 10/100 RJ45 uplink ports for network connections. The switch supplies up to 30 watts per PoE port with a total 95-watt PoE power budget and transfers power and data over standard Cat5e network cables. Selectable Normal, VLAN and PoE Extend modes support different installation requirements. Manual VLAN mode isolates ports 18 from one another while maintaining communication with uplink ports 9 and 10. PoE Extend mode reduces network speed while extending PoE support up to 820 feet. Powered Device Monitor (PDM), also called PD Alive Check, can restart connected PoE devices that stop responding or sending network traffic. All RJ45 ports support 10/100 auto-sensing, Auto-MDIX and NWay auto-negotiation. The switch provides a 2 Gbps switching capacity, store-and-forward architecture, 1K MAC address entries, 448 Kbit buffer memory, jumbo frames up to 1,536 bytes and IEEE 802.3x flow control. IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet and Green Ethernet technology help reduce power use by deactivating unused ports and adjusting power levels according to cable length. Detection and protection features include short-circuit, overload, high-voltage, ESD and PoE surge protection. The fanless metal housing supports silent operation and includes rubber feet for desktop placement, installation holes for wall mounting, LEDs for power, link/activity and PoE status, and a grounding point. The switch measures 6.61 x 3.7 x 1.26 inches and includes an external power adapter, power cable and instructions.
