You cant attach fiber optical cable to most IP devices such as IP cameras, and access points directly. 5843-29 is the complete kit to provide the conversion between fiber optical cable and cat5e/cat6. The BiDi transceiver takes different wavelengths to transmit and receive data. You only need a single fiber core to set up the network link.
The temperature is a challenge for all IP devices. 5843-29 can work under a wide range of temperatures between -20 degrees to 60 degrees. The media converter also accepts the voltage between DC5V to DC12V. The DC12V power supplies are included
Working with pre-made fiber optical cable (LC type UPC surface) from Fastcabling, you dont even need to deal with the fiber cable connector. Simply pull the fiber cable between point A and point B, then attach the LC connector to the media converter at both ends. The whole system setup could just take a few minutes after you have wired the cable.
