Overview

The Akuvox S535 is a facial recognition door phone built around a modular architecture, which is the feature that separates it from fixed-function intercoms: a single base unit accepts an expansion module for LTE connectivity, a fingerprint reader, or an induction loop for hearing-aid users. One SKU covers scenarios that would otherwise require three different devices, and a site whose requirements change later doesn't need the panel replaced.

Access is genuinely multi-way. Residents and staff can enter by face, RFID card, PIN, Bluetooth, or QR code, so a building can issue permanent credentials to residents and time-limited QR codes to visitors, contractors, and deliveries from the same panel. The integrated reader handles 13.56 MHz, 125 kHz, and NFC, covering both modern and legacy card stock without a separate reader.

A 5-inch IPS touchscreen sits behind an aluminum front panel, with a 2MP wide-angle camera streaming 1080p at 30fps with HDR. The camera runs permanently and switches to auto-night mode with LED illumination, and because it complies with ONVIF it registers to third-party NVRs as a camera the entry point gets recorded alongside the rest of the system rather than living in a separate silo. SIP v2 compliance means the same is true for the phone side: it integrates with existing SIP infrastructure instead of locking the building into a proprietary platform. Two-way audio uses G.722 wideband with echo cancellation, voice activity detection, and comfort noise generation.

Integration hardware is complete: one relay output, two inputs, Wiegand and RS485 ports, light and motion sensors, and tamper alarm. Deployment tools include auto-provisioning, a web management portal, configuration backup and restore, entry and access log export, and access table import/export meaningful when commissioning more than a handful of doors.

The aluminum panel carries IP66 and IK08 ratings and operates from -40°C to +55°C, mounting flush or on the surface. Power comes from 802.3at PoE or 12V DC.
