This function is used to reset the oil change reminder in your car. When you change the oil, the car’s ECU needs to be told that the oil is new, so it stops reminding you to change it.

When you replace or service brake pads, the VD500 resets the warning light on the dashboard. It tells the car's ECU that the brake pads are new or have been checked, so the warning light disappears.

If the throttle is adjusted or replaced, this reset helps the car's ECU learn about new settings for the throttle (the part that controls how much air and fuel the engine takes in).
