Where are the instructions? It only came with a small "User Manual" describing "Windows 98 Setup," but no actual instructions.

I was able to just to plug it into a USB port and it was recognized. There was no setup required. You can use a 3rd party app to burn music or movies if you want. Other than that, it is user friendly and a great buy.

Why is this listed as a DVD burner? It is clearly labeled right on the front of it as a DVD-ROM. This thing does NOT burn DVDs. And the specs actually list the burn speed for Blu-Ray....is no one checking these things?

Just to the left of DVD-ROM is the commonplace label for "rewriteable". I have used the one I purchased to back up several computers.... so unless you got the wrong product, this one works for burning DVD's. I haven't tried burning blue rays however.
