Is this an Active adapter?

No, this adapter is NOT active. I needed an active adapter and got this one by mistake and it did not work, it limited my monitors to only two. For an active adapter I purchased a Cable Matters Gold Plated Active Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter for roughly $25 and it works great! Most active adapters will be in this $25-30 price range.
